TRENDING: The world of art
There always have been that never ending question is fashion an art or not and we are not going to start that discussion again. But one thing is for sure - designers take a lot of inspiration from the world of art and in SS14 we see it more than ever.
We start with artistic brush strokes at Celine. SUPER!! TREND CRUSH!! Phoebe Philo you made us proud!
Also Karl took up a paint brush for Chanel collection.
Color palette!
There were some fantastic water color applique at Antonio Marras.
Watercolor fun!
And now lets get to the big guns! Dutch still life paintings at Dries Van Noten. We thought that fall like colors for spring is something unique but definitely worth a go!
Dutch Master tulip paintings. Pure beauty!
Paul Gauguin is one of our favorite painters that captivates us with his color choice, therefore, we couldn't have been more exciting to see his artworks on Aquilano Rimondi designs!
And then there was Andrew Gn who took works by Georges Braque and Pablo Picasso as his inspiration and we adored those shapes and colors!
Also Jil Sander took references from art inspiration; the looks above are our favorite from the SS14 collection.
Inspiration was taken by Alighiero Boetti art works.
And then there was Jean Charles De Castelbajac who's collection sung with faces, illustrations and bright bold artistic strokes.
Inspiration: Constantin Brâncuși kissing faces.
Joan Miro.
Sonia Rykiel turned to Art Nouveau and showed some cacao plant print.
And lastly PRADA!
OUR ULTIMATE FAVORITE!
There is simply divine! Popping with texture, details and with a set to die for, we want rainbows in our wardrobes and all over our interiors.

PFW Chanel
Chanel collection swept us away. It was like Karl meets Art meets Fashion. Looking at the show made us feel like going to see Modern Art Museum. Only this time instead of seeing Hirst or Warhol we saw Karl's art embelisshed with Chanel logo.
Huge Chanel No. 5 perfume bottle looking like a robot
Massive Chanel logo sculpture and paintings!
Amazing venue!
Inspiration Art Basel!
and colorful Japanese toys!
If it is Art then it is art! We adored that colorful paint stroke pattern!
watercolor
We were amazed by fantastic eye make-up! A cool mixture between Japanese culture and color splash!
Reminded us of this super cool photo of Kate Moss by Mario Testino
and Asian culture
Another thing we saw and loved was wearing two bags at the time. If they are as cute as Chanel's MORE IS definitely MORE!
We thought that that washed out/bleached material looked fantastic!
made us think of that old pair of jeans we just can't throw out
It is ain't no Chanel if there is no black'n'white and tweed!
made us think of birch tree
And some more looks we couldn't leave out! Because there could NEVER be too much of CHANEL.
As they say:
Food, water, CHANEL - lets go back to the essentials!
Pure love!
